If your water well tends to run dry and you'd like to create more storage space for your water, well deepening may be an option for you.
Well deepening may create more water yield, more storage space, and a decreased fluctuation in the water table as deeper waters tend to be more consistent. This also means increased drought resistance and quite possibly a significant savings advantage over having to dig a whole new well instead of just deepening the one you already have.
On average, a 6" water well is able to hold an additional gallon and a half of water per linear foot, so deepening the well will create more storage space. In shallow water wells, the water tables fluctuate more so than deeper water.
